It’s finally fall — and to help you take full advantage of this festive season, we’ve compiled our Kansas City fall bucket list, complete with 20+ events and activities. 🍂

Farms 🚜

Red Barn Farm | 16300 Wilkerson Rd., Weston, MO | Rated by Yelp as the top pumpkin patch in Missouri, this farm is located ~35 minutes northwest of downtown KC.

Faulkner’s Ranch | 10600 Raytown Rd., Kansas City, MO | This Raytown ranch boasts dozens of attractions in addition to pumpkins, including pony rides, zip lines, and a corn cannon.

Louisburg Cider Mill | 14730 K-68 Highway, Louisburg, KS | Located 40 minutes southwest of downtown KC, this family farm + country store sells pumpkins and cider through Oct. 31.

Carolyn’s Pumpkin Patch | 17607 N.E. 52nd St., Liberty, MO | There’s a special 30-year celebration this weekend, Oct. 9-10+ train rides and pumpkin donuts all fall long.

Johnson Farms | 17701 Holmes Rd., Belton, MO | Celebrating 20 years of their 50-acre pumpkin patch, this farm is found 30 minutes south of downtown KC.

Kerby Farm Pumpkin Patch | 15943 158th St., Bonner Springs, KS | Pumpkin picking, corn mazes, hay rides, and a spook house, just 30 minutes west of downtown.

KC Pumpkin Patch | KC Pumpkin Patch, 13875 S. Gardner Rd., Olathe, KS | 50+ family-friendly farm activities running through Oct. 31.

Liberty Corn Maze | Liberty Corn Maze, 17607 Liberty Bend Rd. S., Liberty, MO | 4 large mazes to choose from, featuring this year’s “Lewis & Clark Expedition” special design.

Haunted Attractions 👻

Halloween Haunt | Worlds of Fun | Experience haunted attractions and hundreds of monsters along with your favorite thrill rides through Oct. 30.

West Bottoms haunted houses | 1401 W. 13th St., Kansas City, MO | Home to one of the top 10 haunted houses in the nation, thrill seekers can explore The Edge of Hell, The Beast, Macabre Cinema, or a DIY experience through escape rooms.

Exiled Haunted Trail | 12829 Loring Rd., Bonner Springs, KS | A 1-mile rugged hike through haunted woods, led only by a small, red LED light.

The Paranormal Path in Independence | A 3-part collection of reportedly haunted sites across Independence, MO.

Out-and-About 🌤️

The summer heat is behind us — for the most part — and fall is in the air. It’s time to enjoy Mother Nature in her 60s and 70s.

Watch for changing leaves

KC is beginning to turn. Thankfully, the Missouri Department of Conservation has fall color reports for different parts of the state, including the Kansas City region. The reports are updated weekly and also include links to parks for prime viewing.

Walk with a group

Walk, run, or ride a different KC + Jackson County trail each Sunday throughout October via Walktober. Each event begins midday, concluding on Halloween with a stroll through Union Cemetery.
